(Interesting, informative and inspiring books that I think women and men will find fascinating.)
First book on my list:
1.) Woman: An Intimate Geography by Natalie Angier.
This book is mind-blowing-ly-awesome. It is technical and dense since it is all based in scientific fact and is a great read. Even reading a chapter or two is enlightening. Did you know the uterus secretes beta-endorphins and dynorphins, two of the bodies natural opiates? Until recently people thought these compounds were only created and present in the brain and spinal cord. We still don’t know why the uterus does this but perhaps it is a source for natural painkillers. Did you know the X chromosome (of which women have two) is responsible for communication between brain cells? Pretty awesome stuff! The female body is incredible and this book gives credit where credit is due.
